Everything you need to know about ordering, pickup, what we make, and how it all works. Still have a question? Send us a note.
Pre-orders open Saturday mornings and close Tuesday nights at 11:45pm. This gives us enough time to source supplies, prep, and bake so everything arrives fresh for your Friday pickup — ready for family dinner or a weekend gathering.
Unfortunately no. We're a small family microbakery with dedicated baking days built around our schedule, and we bake to order so nothing goes to waste. Ordering ahead is the only way to guarantee your spot!
The best way is to sign up for SMS reminders through Hotplate — you'll get a text when each drop opens so you never miss the Saturday window.
Yes! Gift cards are available through Hotplate and make a great gift for anyone who loves fresh-baked bread.
Porch pickup is every Friday from 3–6pm in Zeeland. The exact address is included in each Hotplate pre-order and will also be texted to you when your order is ready.
We're just around the corner from Captain Sundae and right down the street from Zeeland Christian School — an easy stop during school pickup, on the way home from work, or during a late afternoon walk.
No problem — send a friend, or message us through the Hotplate app and we'll do our best to work something out. We can't always accommodate requests outside our scheduled pickup window, but we're happy to try if you need us to leave your order outside or have someone else swing by.
We're open to delivering within biking distance of our home for a small additional fee. Send us a message if that's something you'd like to work out!
Check the current pre-order listing on Hotplate to see this week's options. Our menu rotates, so what's available changes week to week.
All of our baked goods are made following the Michigan Cottage Food Law, which permits home-kitchen food businesses to operate without a commercial kitchen license. Every product is labeled with the required statement and a full ingredient list.

That said, we label everything with a full ingredient list and are happy to help you figure out what might work for your situation — just send us a message before ordering.

Alison is the head baker, but this is genuinely a family operation. Our kids have been growing their kitchen skills for years — including nearly three years living and cooking aboard our sailboat. Everyone has a hand in what we make here.
Bob is our sourdough starter — the living culture of wild yeast and bacteria that gives our focaccia its long fermentation and distinctive flavor. He's been part of the family for a while now and takes his job very seriously. Every loaf starts with Bob.
We're in Zeeland, Michigan — West Michigan, in the Holland/Zeeland area. The exact pickup address is shared with each Hotplate order.
The easiest way to reach us is through the messaging feature in the Hotplate app if you have an order. You can also email us at hello@whiskeredwoods.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
We bake to order, so cancellations impact us more than a traditional bakery. Full refunds (minus payment processing fees) are available for cancellations 24+ hours before pickup. Within 24 hours, we're unable to refund as your order is already in progress.
For larger orders (6+ items), please cancel 48+ hours ahead. Something came up? Reach out — we're a real family and we'll always try to work with you.
Yes. We operate as Whiskered Woods, LLC under the Michigan Cottage Food Law, which permits home-based food businesses to sell directly to customers. Every product is properly labeled in compliance with state requirements.
